Here’s our story, we’ll be adding to it…
An engineer and a teacher from Guatemala who had no idea the other was living in New York, we moved for education, work and new experiences. When we (re)met at a bar in East Village back in the day when people used to go to bars, circa 2017, who knew we had gone all the way to New York just to marry someone from back home. After five years in NYC, three neighborhoods, one pandemic puppy and one proposal (now marriage), we’re headed back home to GTC.
We’ve had some great adventures up until now but this is by far the most exciting one.
Instead of taking the JetBlue nonstop from JFK to La Aurora, we opted for the itinerary with all the layovers, everywhere. On our way to Guatemala, we’ll visit as many countries as possible, or available due to lockdowns and travel restrictions, and experience a full six months of traveling the world.

It wouldn’t be impossible to explain our story without includding our puppy. The family isn’t complete without her and sadly she couldn’t join us on this adventure. As much as we wanted for her to come along it was just logistically impossible. She is being pampered and cared for by her extended family in GTC but we miss her each day. For those of you who have been lucky enough to meet her, you understand how diferent our days are without here playfulness and, at times, neurosis.
